By infusing legal hemp into butter, you get a flavorful base, perfect for cooking or baking gently. Discover how to make this homemade infused butter, rich in taste and natural benefits.
The Secret of Marrakech CBD Butter
CBD, or cannabidiol, is a naturally lipophilic molecule, meaning it binds easily to fats. This makes butter an ideal carrier for infusion. By binding to lipids, CBD is better absorbed by the body, improving its bioavailability and effects.
This is why Marrakech CBD butter is perfect for hemp cooking. It can be used in many culinary or pastry recipes, such as cakes, cookies, or sauces, or simply spread on toast or mixed into a hot drink for a gentle and effective infusion.
Thanks to its creamy texture and high fat content, CBD butter preserves the aromas of hemp and optimizes cannabidiol absorption, while adding a gourmet touch to every use.
Marrakech CBD Butter Recipe
Info:
-
Total time: 3 hours
-
Main ingredients: butter, CBD flowers, water
-
Level: easy
-
Effects: relaxation, balance, calm
Ingredients for ~250 g of butter:
-
10 g of CBD flowers (or cannabis, depending on legislation)
-
250 g of unsalted or clarified butter
-
500 ml of water
-
1 heavy-bottomed saucepan
-
1 coffee filter, clean cloth, or infuser
-
1 airtight jar for storage
1. Decarboxylate the CBD Flowers
Before infusing the flowers into the butter, heat them gently to activate their active compounds. This step, called decarboxylation, allows heat to activate cannabinoids like CBD.
-
Preheat your oven to 110 °C (230 °F)
-
Crumble the flowers and spread them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper
-
Heat for 35–40 minutes, stirring halfway for even heating
Once out of the oven, let them cool for a few minutes. Your flowers are now activated and ready to release their full potential when infused into the butter.
2. Infuse the CBD into Butter
-
Gently melt the butter with water in a saucepan over low heat
-
When the butter is fully melted, add the decarboxylated flowers
-
Let it infuse for 2–3 hours without boiling
Water prevents the butter from burning and allows a gradual extraction of cannabidiol. Stir regularly for a homogeneous infusion.
If you have an infuser, place the flowers inside before adding to the butter-water mixture. This makes straining easier while preserving CBD quality.
3. Strain and Solidify
-
Once infusion is complete, remove the saucepan from heat and let it rest
-
Pour the mixture through a clean cloth or coffee filter to remove plant residues
-
Transfer the filtered liquid into a glass container and let it cool to room temperature
-
Refrigerate overnight. The butter will solidify naturally, separating from the water
-
The next day, remove the aqueous layer. You now have concentrated CBD butter, ready to use
4. Store and Use CBD Butter
Your Marrakech CBD butter is ready to enjoy or use in cooking. Store it in an airtight jar, away from light and humidity. It lasts about two weeks in the fridge or up to three months in the freezer.
This infused butter can be added to sweet or savory recipes: cakes, cookies, sauces, vegetables, or desserts. You can also enjoy it on warm toast or mixed into a hot drink for a gentle and fully absorbed infusion.
Chef’s Tip (CBDPC):
Always add your CBD butter at the end of cooking or over low heat. Too high a temperature may reduce the effects of cannabidiol and aromatic richness.
Why Is It Called Marrakech Butter?
Marrakech Butter gets its name from the Moroccan city where this preparation became popular in the 1960s–1970s. Originally made with local cannabis, it was used in traditional cuisine for dishes and pastries with psychoactive effects.
Marrakech, a historic hemp trading center and a destination for travelers seeking exotic experiences, spread the recipe worldwide under this iconic name.
Today, the famous infused butter returns in a modern, legal version. THC-rich cannabis is replaced by CBD hemp, offering a relaxing and delicious experience without any psychoactive effects.
